I work as a Lecturer at Sociology, Lancaster University, UK. I am passionate about all things visual, and specially interested in media practices that involve people interacting with/through images. Visual Research is at the core of my work, as it is co-authoring/co-producing. To me, research is a shared process that is best practiced by listening and observing on site. It is through this approach that I explore media practices in the contexts of migration, kinship and intimacy. These themes are also present in my “purely” visual work, which some may consider non-academic (e.g. contribution to “Reversality: An artistic investigation into social identities”, published by GMOA and UNHCR.
